About This Blog

My name is Amy, and I am a white, cis-gender woman, experiential educator, and life-long learner. I did not recognize my whiteness until I was 22 when I started a year of service with the organization City Year - Seattle/King County in a school comprised predominately of students of color. Since then, I have committed to working to become a culturally-competent, equitable, and informed educator and person.

While I have been doing this largely by myself and in community with my peers in grad school and at work, I wanted to expand this work beyond my comfortable bubble of people who are also doing this work to make my learning public and to help provide resources and tools for other white folks.

I welcome critical feedback, and appreciate opportunities to grow in this work.
